Click here to learn more about Galen! (https://galencollege.edu/about) Position Overview: At Galen College of Nursing, Academic Advisors are at the center of the student experience. As an Academic Advisor, you'll serve as the primary point of contact for a caseload of nursing students - building relationships, identifying students who need support, and helping them stay on track from orientation through program completion. This role is a mix of proactive outreach, one-on-one advising, collaboration with faculty and campus leadership, and resource development. It's a great fit for someone who is energized by student success, comfortable with data, and thrives in a team-oriented environment. What You'll Do Meet regularly with assigned students to build strong advising relationships and provide guidance throughout their academic journey. Monitor and proactively reach out to at-risk students including those who are readmitted, repeating courses, or showing early warning signs in target courses. Develop and monitor personalized advising plans in collaboration with students to support retention and program completion. Respond to escalated alerts for assigned students and coordinate with faculty, staff, and academic leadership on academic performance concerns and resource referrals. Participate in data collection efforts to identify trends affecting student progression and contribute to proactive retention strategies. Collaborate with the enrollment team and Office of Academic Records to support students during the enrollment process. Partner with campus leadership and the campus Retention Council on retention initiatives and campus-wide student success efforts. Help facilitate orientation and other student success events. Develop and host workshops and create advising resources based on your area of expertise, contributing to a shared library of resources for the college. Document all student interactions accurately in the Student Information System. Extended hours should be expected during pre-registration advising periods.
