Job Description

Seeking an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) or Physician Assistant (PA) to join the Gastrointestinal (GI) Medical Oncology department. Our team of medical oncologists, scientists, physician assistants, and research nurses treat gastrointestinal malignancies, including cancers of the liver, bile duct, gallbladder, pancreas, large and small bowel, stomach, esophagus and rare tumors. The ideal candidate will have at least one year of experience as an Advanced Practice Provider. Prior GI experience or internal medicine/ transplant experience preferred. The hours for this position are Monday - Friday, 8am-5pm. KEY FUNCTIONS Medical/Clinical Knowledge - Demonstrate knowledge that includes an understanding of pathophysiology, patient presentation, differential diagnosis, patient management, surgical principles, health promotion, and disease prevention. - Demonstrate an investigatory and analytic thinking approach to clinical situation: including management of general medical and surgical conditions to include understanding, indication, contraindication, side effects, interactions and adverse reactions of pharmacologic agents and other relevant treatment modalities. - Counsel and educate patients and their families about disease and illness in addition to providing health care services and education aimed at preventing health problems or maintaining health. Practice-Based Learning and Improvement - Participate in processes to assess, evaluate, maintain and improve their patient care practices. - Demonstrate knowledge of scientific studies related to their patient's health problems. Maintenance staff handle a daily work order queue — everything from changing light bulbs and fixing call buttons to HVAC maintenance and plumbing repairs. Life-safety equipment checks (fire extinguishers, exit lighting, generator testing) happen on set schedules. Activities professionals plan and lead group programming — exercise classes, crafts, music sessions, outings — and also provide one-on-one engagement for residents who cannot participate in group settings.
