Summary The Department of Orthopedic Surgery is seeking a Certified Hand Therapist (CHT), responsible for evaluating and developing the therapy plan of care for a broad range of hand and upper extremity diagnoses and acuities. This position is located at our Kirby Glen location. Job Duties Promotes a positive work environment to build a team focused work unit that actively helps one another to achieve optimal department results. Collaborates with all members of the hand and upper extremity patient care team by actively communicating and reporting pertinent patient care information and data in a comprehensive manner. Performs complete and comprehensive evaluation of patients across a broad range of hand and upper extremity diagnosis to identify patient's level of function and to determine the treatment plan. Develops the plan of care based on evaluation findings, implementing the hand and upper extremity treatment plan. Provides education to patients, patient's family members, and/or caregivers. Collaborates and communicates with the healthcare team modifications to patient's treatment plan, progress, and discharge planning for achievement of identified patient specific goals. Assesses hand and upper extremity patients regularly, monitoring progress towards treatment goals, modifying goals, plan or program as indicated. Recognizes complications/limitations associated with certain procedures and proactively addresses such for optimum outcomes. Maintains accurate and complete documentation of patient education and procedures performed in a timely manner in the patient record. Performs other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications Graduate of education program approved by the credentialing body for the required credential(s) indicated below in the Certificates, Licenses and Registrations section. Four years of experience as a Physical or Occupational Therapist. Texas Physical or Occupational Therapist License. Hand Therapy Certification through Hand Therapy Credentialing Commission (HTCC). Basic Life Support Certification from the American Heart Association. Work Authorization Requirement: This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship. Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States at the time of application and throughout the duration of employment. For housekeeping roles, the day follows a room-by-room schedule — cleaning resident rooms, sanitizing common areas, managing laundry, and responding to spill or accident cleanups as they happen. Infection control protocols are more rigorous than in hotels or commercial cleaning, especially during flu season or respiratory illness outbreaks.

Maintenance staff handle a daily work order queue — everything from changing light bulbs and fixing call buttons to HVAC maintenance and plumbing repairs. Life-safety equipment checks (fire extinguishers, exit lighting, generator testing) happen on set schedules. Activities professionals plan and lead group programming — exercise classes, crafts, music sessions, outings — and also provide one-on-one engagement for residents who cannot participate in group settings. Social workers manage care conferences, discharge planning, family mediation, and community resource referrals. Across all these roles, the common thread is that you become a familiar, trusted presence in residents' daily lives.
