As a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) , you play a vital role in helping patients rebuild the skills they need for daily living following illness or injury. Meaningful, one-on-one patient care in the home setting Autonomy with support – manage your day with guidance from an experienced OT team Real impact on functional outcomes and quality of life Collaborative care model with nurses, therapists, and leadership What You’ll Do Work under the direction of a Licensed Occupational Therapist to deliver personalized, goal-driven care: Implement treatment plans to improve patients’ ability to perform daily activities Provide hands-on therapy focused on strength, coordination, mobility, and self-care Retrain patients in ADLs (dressing, bathing, meal prep, etc.) Assess and report on patient progress, function, and home safety needs Educate patients and caregivers on techniques, exercises, and safety strategies Identify changes in condition and communicate proactively with the OT and care team Complete timely, accurate documentation in the EMR Support a safe, effective, and coordinated plan of care What We’re Looking For We’re seeking COTAs who understand the independence and clinical awareness required in home health: Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program Active COTA license/certification in the state of practice Home Health experience strongly preferred Current CPR certification Ability to work independently in a field-based environment Strong clinical observation, communication, and time management skills Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and auto insurance What Sets You Apart Experience delivering therapy in patient homes vs. facility settings Ability to adapt care plans to real-life home environments Confidence identifying and escalating changes in patient condition A balance of clinical skill and compassionate care Competitive Pay & Benefits A compensation package that recognizes your expertise and impact. For housekeeping roles, the day follows a room-by-room schedule — cleaning resident rooms, sanitizing common areas, managing laundry, and responding to spill or accident cleanups as they happen. Infection control protocols are more rigorous than in hotels or commercial cleaning, especially during flu season or respiratory illness outbreaks.

Maintenance staff handle a daily work order queue — everything from changing light bulbs and fixing call buttons to HVAC maintenance and plumbing repairs. Life-safety equipment checks (fire extinguishers, exit lighting, generator testing) happen on set schedules. Activities professionals plan and lead group programming — exercise classes, crafts, music sessions, outings — and also provide one-on-one engagement for residents who cannot participate in group settings. Social workers manage care conferences, discharge planning, family mediation, and community resource referrals. Across all these roles, the common thread is that you become a familiar, trusted presence in residents' daily lives.
