Monday-Friday Shift: 6:00 AM - 2:30 PM POSITION SUMMARY: Ensure Assisted Living residents receive the appropriate medications (as ordered) at the appropriate times and within the scope of responsibilities of the medication aide as defined by the State of Texas Must function independently, and have flexibility, personal integrity, and the ability to work effectively with residents, personnel, family members and support agencies. May be necessary to assist in the evacuation of residents during emergency situations or stay on property during inclement weather, Example: Hurricanes. Report and document resident's refusal of treatments or medications to the charge Nurse and the Wellness Director. Order medications in a timely manner. Report any incidents or concerns to the charge Nurse and the Wellness Director. *Other duties as assigned.* POSITION QUALIFICATIONS: This individual will possess the following: Must be a licensed Certified Medication Aide having successfully completed a state approved training program and any necessary examination(s) in accordance with laws of this State. The team dynamic is close-knit. You will work alongside other aides, report to the charge nurse, and communicate with families who visit. In memory care units, redirection and engagement activities are a big part of the role — keeping residents calm, oriented, and socially active. The work is physically and emotionally demanding, but many aides describe deep bonds with the residents they care for and a sense of purpose that keeps them in the field long-term.
