Job Description
Join Atria Senior Living as an Engage Life Program Instructor and create meaningful experiences for our residents. You'll lead engaging programs that enhance quality of life and support active aging in a supportive, community-focused environment.
What You'll Do
- Lead assigned Engage Life programs tailored to resident interests and preferences.
- Offer diversified recreational activities with appropriate supervision for each activity.
- Engage and motivate residents to participate while informing them of upcoming activities.
- Develop programs for all residents, including those confined to their rooms.
- Assist in planning parties, decorating for seasons/holidays, and coordinating birthday celebrations.
- Maintain detailed records of activities, participation levels, and resident acceptance as required.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED with three to six months related experience preferred.
- Ability to write simple correspondence and communicate effectively in groups.
- Strong interpersonal skills to engage residents and foster community connections.
- May be required to drive company vehicle to social and community destinations.

Infection control protocols are more rigorous than in hotels or commercial cleaning, especially during flu season or respiratory illness outbreaks.
Maintenance staff handle a daily work order queue — everything from changing light bulbs and fixing call buttons to HVAC maintenance and plumbing repairs. Life-safety equipment checks (fire extinguishers, exit lighting, generator testing) happen on set schedules. Activities professionals plan and lead group programming — exercise classes, crafts, music sessions, outings — and also provide one-on-one engagement for residents who cannot participate in group settings. Social workers manage care conferences, discharge planning, family mediation, and community resource referrals.
