Job Description
Join Village of River Oaks as a Resident Medication Aide and make a meaningful difference in seniors' lives. We're seeking compassionate, dedicated professionals to provide exceptional care in our Independent and Assisted Living community.
What You'll Do
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, monitoring residents' responses closely.
- Maintain accurate daily records of medication distribution, activities, incidents, and resident condition changes.
- Assist residents with medications and supervise those who self-administer medications.
- Provide direct resident care and respond promptly to requests for assistance.
- Ensure cleanliness and organization of the medicine supply room and count controlled substances.
Requirements
- High School diploma or GED required.
- 6 months to 1 year of prior resident care experience, preferably with seniors.
- Delegation by a Registered Nurse for medication administration.
- Excellent communication, customer service skills, and attention to detail.
- Understanding of HIPAA requirements and strong problem-solving abilities.

The team dynamic is close-knit. You will work alongside other aides, report to the charge nurse, and communicate with families who visit. In memory care units, redirection and engagement activities are a big part of the role — keeping residents calm, oriented, and socially active. The work is physically and emotionally demanding, but many aides describe deep bonds with the residents they care for and a sense of purpose that keeps them in the field long-term.
