Job Description

Working as a Charge Nurse in long term care is an opportunity unique from all other health care facilities. Not only are supervisory and leadership experience essential, but Charge Nurses in long term acute care must also possess compassion, patience, and understanding to truly be successful. If you are a nurse with the passion and commitment for teamwork, clinical excellence, and have those essential qualities, this role may be for you! USD $28.00 - USD $30.50 /Hr. The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, skill sets, experience, education and training, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. Supervise staff and overall clinical outcomes. Ensure that quality care, customer service, and employee relationships are always top priorities. Supervise and provide career coaching to existing members on staff. Provide direct patient care, collect patient data, make observations, and report pertinent information related to patient care. Depending on the facility, you may also handle admissions paperwork, manage wound care, supervise medication techs, and respond to emergencies. The documentation load in senior living is significant β€” state surveys and compliance requirements mean thorough charting is non-negotiable. Many nurses in this setting say the most rewarding part is knowing their residents personally and being able to notice subtle changes that a rotating hospital nurse might miss.
