Job Description
Houston Methodist seeks an experienced Registered Nurse to serve as Charge Nurse II on our Observation unit. This leadership role combines direct patient care with mentoring, quality improvement, and unit management responsibilities.

- Provide nursing care to diverse patient populations including assessments, exams, and treatment
- Lead unit activities, shared governance, and coordinate education in partnership with management
- Mentor and coach department staff in clinical and professional practice development
- Role model compassionate communication with physicians and interprofessional healthcare teams
- Drive patient satisfaction and quality/safety initiatives through leadership rounding and accountability
Requirements
- Graduate of accredited nursing education program
- 24 months clinical nursing experience with demonstrated progressive leadership skills
- Texas RN licensure and BLS certification; NIH Stroke Scale certification within 4 months
- Proficiency in English speaking, reading, and writing for patient and employee safety
- Strong assessment, organizational, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills
About This Position

- Uniform and scrubs required; travel within Houston Metropolitan area may be required

Depending on the facility, you may also handle admissions paperwork, manage wound care, supervise medication techs, and respond to emergencies.
