Job Description
Houston Methodist seeks an experienced Manager Nurse Practitioner for Acute Care in Radiology/Oncology. This position combines clinical practice with strategic leadership of NP/PA department operations.
What You'll Do- Manage daily operations, staffing, scheduling, and performance evaluations for NP/PA department staff
- Maintain clinical NP patient assignment while providing strategic direction and leadership
- Drive quality improvements, safety initiatives, and compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards
- Develop and mentor staff through coaching, performance feedback, and professional development planning
- Manage department budget, expenses, and financial targets while optimizing productivity and resource utilization
- Serve as liaison to Medical Staff, Hospital Leadership, Administration, and Nursing Leadership teams
- Master's degree or higher in Nursing with graduation from accredited Nurse Practitioner program
- Five years clinical experience including three years as a Nurse Practitioner; supervisory experience strongly preferred
- Current Texas RN license, APRN Acute Care license, and ANCC Acute Care certification
- BLS, ACLS, Prescriptive Authority, and DEA Narcotics License (DEA within 6 months)
- Preferred: PALS and FCCS certifications within 6 months; fluent English speaking, reading, and writing
- On-call responsibilities during emergencies and severe weather events
- Travel within Houston Metropolitan area may be required
