Job Description
Houston Methodist seeks an experienced Registered Nurse II for the Medical ICU. This licensed clinician provides direct patient care to diverse populations with complex needs while collaborating with physicians and interprofessional teams.
What You'll Do
- Conduct nursing assessments, assist with exams, treatment, and maintain medical records
- Provide direct patient care efficiently to patients with varied and complex needs
- Communicate and collaborate with physicians and healthcare teams to coordinate quality care
- Serve as charge nurse, preceptor, or lead unit governance and hospital-wide initiatives
- Advocate for patients and families to monitor and maintain patient rights
Requirements
- Graduate of approved nursing education program with current RN licensure in Texas
- Twelve months registered nurse experience in a healthcare environment
- BLS and ACLS certifications within 4 months; NIHSTROKE certification within 4 months
- Strong assessment, organizational, and problem-solving skills with clinical judgment abilities
- Proficiency in English and Microsoft Office products; ability to work independently
