Job Description
Houston Methodist is seeking a PRN Registered Nurse for Med/Surg to provide professional nursing care to diverse patient populations. This role functions at the Competent to Proficient stage, delivering direct patient care while collaborating with the interprofessional healthcare team.
What You'll Do- Conduct nursing assessments, assist with exams and treatment, and maintain medical records
- Provide direct patient care to patients with varied and complex needs effectively and efficiently
- Communicate and collaborate with physicians to coordinate compassionate, quality care and treatment outcomes
- Serve as patient and family advocate, monitor patient rights, and provide patient education
- Assume leadership roles including charge nurse duties, preceptorship, and shared governance initiatives
- Graduate of an approved RN education program with two years healthcare nursing experience
- Texas State RN licensure; must obtain permanent license within 60 days if establishing Texas residency
- BLS or Instructor certification from American Heart Association
- Strong communication, assessment, organizational and problem-solving skills with proficient English fluency
- Ability to function independently, exercise clinical judgment, and demonstrate time management proficiency
