At Cornerstone Caregiving, we are cultivating the potential of emerging leaders through our Top Gun Program. This initiative provides elite professionals with hands-on experience & mentorship to become pillars of our company as Operating Directors. Some came straight out of college; others were seasoned professionals—VPs, sales leaders, operators. Their backgrounds varied, but they shared one thing in common: a hunger for more. More ownership. More challenges. More upside. Through this dynamic learning environment, candidates are challenged to overcome obstacles, develop leadership skills, and actively shape the future of our business.

Program Outline
Emerge as a leader

Join our paid training program, offering hands-on experience in branch management and expansion, including comprehensive training and a month of immersive operations with weekly evaluations. As a Top Gun Participant, you’ll gain hands-on experience in every aspect of the business—from marketing and operations to finances and team management.

Week 1: Corporate Training
  • Top tier corporate training led by company founders and senior leadership in Waco, TX
  • Network with existing Operating Directors
  • Connect with established corporate leaders
Week 2 – 5: Field Training
  • Hands-on field experience with an Operating Director in an existing office
  • Learn roles and take on responsibilities of the day-to-day operations
  • Incrementally take on the marketing, recruiting, and scheduling tasks of an Operating Director
  • Deep dive into Profit & Loss and budget management statements
  • Establish and maintain relationships with clients and referral sources in the community
  • By the end of Week 5, candidates will essentially be running the entire office independently

  • 1-on-1 meeting with corporate leaders
  • Display greatest achievements and challenges throughout the program
  • Those who successfully complete all phases are offered the opportunity to launch and lead their own office as an Operating Director

Compensation

All expenses for travel, meals, and lodging are covered for the entire 5-week program. In addition, candidates receive a weekly stipend of $1,000.

Training

Candidates receive founder-led corporate training in Waco, TX, followed by four weeks working under a successful Operating Director in one of our nationwide offices, gaining hands-on experience in decision-making and financial management.

Mentorship

Participants receive personalized one-on-one mentorship from experienced directors, providing valuable insights and consistent feedback throughout the program, ensuring their growth and development as emerging leaders.

Competition

Candidates in this program engage in competition through a performance-based scoring system, allowing them to compete against other elite professionals, with grading occurring from day one until completion.

Personal Growth

Through self-assessment, goal setting, and skill-building, participants chart a course toward their full potential. Mentorship and coaching provide guidance, while health and wellness activities promote overall well-being.

What to Expect in This Role Day-to-Day

Based on typical senior living facilities in the Houston area.

For housekeeping roles, the day follows a room-by-room schedule — cleaning resident rooms, sanitizing common areas, managing laundry, and responding to spill or accident cleanups as they happen. Infection control protocols are more rigorous than in hotels or commercial cleaning, especially during flu season or respiratory illness outbreaks.

Maintenance staff handle a daily work order queue — everything from changing light bulbs and fixing call buttons to HVAC maintenance and plumbing repairs. Life-safety equipment checks (fire extinguishers, exit lighting, generator testing) happen on set schedules. Activities professionals plan and lead group programming — exercise classes, crafts, music sessions, outings — and also provide one-on-one engagement for residents who cannot participate in group settings. Social workers manage care conferences, discharge planning, family mediation, and community resource referrals. Across all these roles, the common thread is that you become a familiar, trusted presence in residents' daily lives.
