Job Description

Join Brooke Army Medical Center, the Department of Defense's largest inpatient hospital and Level I Trauma Center, as a Medical-Surgical Registered Nurse. You'll deliver safe, evidence-based care to adult patients in a fast-paced inpatient environment while adhering to military healthcare standards.

What You'll Do

  • Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and develop individualized nursing care plans
  • Administer medications via multiple routes and manage blood product administration
  • Perform wound care, assist with patient hygiene and mobility, and monitor patient conditions
  • Educate patients and families on disease processes, medications, and discharge instructions
  • Float to other comparable units as assigned and supervise LVNs and assistive personnel

Requirements

  • Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) minimum; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
  • Current, active, unrestricted RN license from any U.S. state or territory
  • Minimum one year RN experience in acute care inpatient setting within last two years
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; ACLS or ALS preferred for specialty units
  • U.S. Citizenship and successful background investigation and security screening completion
