Job Description
Houston Methodist seeks an experienced Registered Nurse for a PRN position in Labor & Delivery. You'll provide professional nursing care to diverse patients while functioning at the Competent to Proficient stage of clinical practice.
What You'll Do- Conduct nursing assessments, assist with exams, treatments, and maintain medical records
- Provide direct patient care to patients with varied and complex needs
- Communicate and collaborate with physicians and interprofessional healthcare teams
- Serve as charge nurse, preceptor, or lead unit governance initiatives
- Advocate for patients and families while monitoring and maintaining patient rights
- Graduate of nursing program approved by credentialing body
- Two years registered nurse experience in a healthcare environment
- Current Texas RN license; BLS, ACLS, NRP, and Fetal Heart Monitoring certifications
- Strong communication, assessment, organizational and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency in English and Microsoft products including Outlook
- PRN (as-needed) role requiring scrubs and on-call availability
- Travel may be required within the Houston Metropolitan area
- Non-exempt FLSA status with potential emergency on-call requirements
